Job summary

EisnerAmper seeks a Director to join the State and Local Tax (SALT) division in our Sales & Use Tax practice. The role drives compliance, consulting, and research for clients, supervising a team of tax professionals and coordinating with in-house experts to deliver strategic tax solutions.

The ideal candidate has extensive SALT experience, strong leadership, and expertise with Vertex and Alteryx, to support tax planning, tax research, and complex client engagements.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting or equivalent field.
• CPA, EA, or JD required.
• 10+ years of Sales & Use Tax compliance and consulting experience.
• 5+ years of Vertex returns software experience.
• 5+ years of supervisory experience.
• Master's degree in Accounting or equivalent field; CMI designation a plus.

Responsibilities

• Manage the Sales & Use Tax compliance process for clients’ returns.
• Provide Sales & Use Tax consulting, including nexus and taxability studies.
• Lead Sales & Use Tax research projects.
• Audit defense support.
• Conduct research and writing on tax topics.
• Perform due diligence and client coordination with in-house tax pros.
• Research state tax legislation and assess impact for clients.
• Support tax planning and restructuring projects; accounting for income taxes.
• Manage firm resources including software.
