Director of Sales - Shop Equipment, Americas

SUMMARY:
Travels as necessary throughout the Americas to support your team, Distribution Partners, OEMs, and Service Shops Customers implementing sales, strategy, and marketing efforts for Vehicle Service Group (VSG) shop equipment products for North & South America markets. The shop equipment category includes our Wheel Service product family (Tire Changers, Balancers, Aligners), A/C Equipment, ADAS Diagnostics Systems, and other related shop equipment product offerings. Coordinate and manage the Shop Equipment Regional Sales Specialist (RSS) sales force and coordination with other VSG sales teams and independent representative network in obtaining sales objectives. Communicate with the VSG management, overall field sales force, independent representative network, VSG Key Account Team, and customer base on decisions relating to sales, strategies, policy, and service.

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS INCLUDE:

  1. Through joint consideration and planning with Sales/Marketing Managers, assist in the determination and formulation of marketing objectives, policies, sales organization structure, and sales and marketing programs designed to achieve optimum profitability and market growth.
  2. Develop annual sales and profitability targets.
  3. Direct activities having to do with implementing all marketing and sales programs for the shop equipment product categories and/or as assigned.
  4. Appraise existing Company products as opposed to competitive lines relative to design, price, marketability, and, where warranted, recommend changes in sales techniques, product design improvement, new product recommendations, or other procedures.
  5. Assist in the development of SIOP and sales forecasts through analysis and interpretation of general economics, industry, marketing, and sales data, statistics, additional sales and distribution channels.
  6. Manage and develop the RSS sales teams' annual operating budget and maintain controls to assure compliance with allocation.
  7. Travel and support your direct team as well as overall field personnel including Regional Managers, Independent Sales Representatives, and Distributors to train, promote company, enhance distributor relationships, develop new sales and marketing programs, and promote new products.
  8. Maintain, update, and execute partner contracts and other needed end-user contracts as required.
  9. Maintain contact with operations to appraise promptness of order processing, deliveries, technical services and parts, warranty satisfaction, and other customer/distributor services.
  10. Key supporter in development and execution of VSG’s Digital platform tools such as Sales Force, ERP, and Lunati Garage and other related programs to streamline processes, reduce costs, and improve communication for all involved selling channels.
  11. Manage specified regions and key accounts as assigned. Maintain direct contact with distribution, market, and users for continual communication of conditions and marketplace issues.
  12. Supervise department employees. Evaluate performance of employees in the department through formal review system and informal coaching sessions.

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration or Engineering preferred.
  • 7 or more years of proven sales leadership within the Wheel/Tire Service Equipment Channels.
  • Leadership experience as it relates to leading a vehicle equipment sales field team, such as regional managers, independent representatives.
  • A proven track record showing success in year after year sales growth, strategic execution, diverse customer channel/selling experience and related key job descriptions as outlined.
  • Must be able to handle a wide range of tasks, see an opportunity and develop it. Must be able to educate and motivate field sales organization, as well as all internal teams.

COMMUNICATION SKILLS:
Ability to read, analyze, and interpret the most complex documents. Ability to respond effectively to the most sensitive inquiries or complaints. Ability to write speeches, articles, and proposals using original or innovative techniques or style. Ability to make effective and persuasive speeches and presentations on controversial or complex topics to top management, public groups, and/or boards of directors.

COMPUTER SKILLS:
To perform this job successfully, an individual must have extensive knowledge of ERP (AS400 or Oracle), Salesforce.com, MS Excel/Office Suite, and related business systems software.

TRAVEL:
Willing to travel as needed - including both domestic and international travel.
