With a position in Sales & Marketing, you’ll strengthen our relationships with clients, anticipate their needs, and think outside the box to unlock new possibilities.

This is a fully remote position, allowing you to work from home or your location of record within the U.S. with no in-office requirements. You must be available five days per week during designated work hours. The work arrangement for this role is subject to change based on business needs and individual performance, which may include adjustments to on-site requirements or schedule expectations.

Position Overview: The Director, Sales is responsible for leading, motivating, and managing a team of sales professionals to meet or exceed sales targets within their assigned region or vertical. This role involves driving sales performance, overseeing the day-to-day activities of the sales team, and developing strategies to enhance revenue growth. You need to possess a strong attention to detail, prior experience in people management, and an extensive background in sales.

Reports To: Regional Vice President of Sales

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Lead, motivate, and manage a team of sales professionals to meet or exceed sales targets within their assigned region or vertical.
  • Drive sales performance, oversee daily activities, and develop revenue growth strategies.
  • Establish sales goals, KPIs, and performance benchmarks for team members.

Requirements:

  • Lead and mentor a sales team, setting performance expectations and providing coaching.
  • Set sales goals, KPIs, and performance benchmarks.
  • Teach and train Paylocity sales processes.
  • Monitor sales activities and performance, providing guidance to close deals.
  • Conduct team meetings, reviews, and develop career progression plans.

Sales Strategy & Execution:

  • Develop and execute sales strategies to meet revenue targets.
  • Identify new business opportunities and manage the sales pipeline.
  • Collaborate with marketing to create sales campaigns.

Customer Relationship Management:

  • Build and maintain relationships with key customers and prospects.
  • Act as a point of escalation for key accounts.
  • Use CRM systems to manage leads and opportunities.

Collaboration & Cross-functional Engagement:

  • Work with marketing, product, and customer success teams.
  • Support the development of sales collateral and proposals.

Market & Industry Knowledge:

  • Stay current on industry trends and market dynamics.
  • Participate in industry events and networking.

Education and Experience:

  • Bachelor's degree in business, Marketing, or related field.
  • 5+ years in Sales or business operations.
  • 2+ years managing HCM Account Executives.

Physical Requirements:

  • Mobility for sitting, standing, walking, and driving.
  • Manual dexterity for operating a computer.
  • Sensory abilities for seeing, hearing, and touch.
