F5 is seeking a senior SaaS attorney to become Director, Commercial Legal, guiding cloud contracting strategy and driving enterprise deal momentum. You will partner with product, security, and sales teams to design scalable commercial terms and playbooks that support product innovation.

You will lead a small team of contract managers, negotiate complex SaaS and data processing agreements, and help accelerate revenue growth while balancing risk in a fast-paced multi-cloud environment.

Qualifikationen

• Juris Doctor (J.D.) from an accredited law school and active bar membership in good standing in at least one U.S. jurisdiction.
• 10+ years of relevant legal experience, including significant in-house experience negotiating enterprise SaaS, cloud platform, and data processing agreements within peer technology companies, cloud-native competitors, or established enterprise vendors.
• Strong practical understanding of privacy, cybersecurity, AI governance, and emerging technology and AI regulations, including SOC 2, ISO 27001, PCI DSS 4.0, FedRAMP, HIPAA, GDPR and U.S. state privacy law, the EU AI Act and DORA.
• SaaS Commercial Acumen: Deep understanding of the SaaS business model, subscription economics, and market-standard contractual expectations, including DPAs, SLA structures, and liability standards common among major SaaS providers.
• Pragmatic Risk-Balancing & Deal Execution: Must demonstrate the ability to evaluate risk through a commercial lens offering creative, practical solutions to close deals efficiently.
• Technical Fluency: Discuss data residency, tenancy, encryption, and telemetry with stakeholders and translate into contractual language.
• Leadership & Cross-Functional Influence: Build trusted relationships across execs, sales, product, and engineering; mentor juniors; lead contract managers.
• Ownership Mindset & Adaptability: Build playbooks from scratch in a fast-paced multi-cloud landscape.

• Drive Deal Velocity In Complex SaaS Negotiations: Close high-value enterprise SaaS transactions with Fortune 500 customers, focusing on efficiency and risk.
• Translate Product Architecture into Commercial Commitments: Work with Product, IS, and Product Counsel to translate cloud concepts into terms.
• Partner with Commercial Legal and Business Leadership: Identify blockers, enhance deal velocity, scale data controls globally.
• Serve as the Global Center of Excellence: Lead two contract managers, review customer papers, guide regional attorneys, develop scalable resources.
• Shape Data Governance, Privacy & Security Commitments: Structure DPAs, security exhibits, and cross-border transfer frameworks.
• Modernize Deal Velocity: Improve negotiation playbooks and self-service contracting workflows to accelerate sales cycles.
