Job summary

State of Michigan (Department of Labor and Economic Opportunity) is seeking an assistant to the Director of Workforce Development. The role advises the Director, responds to complex inquiries, conducts research, and supports policy, budget, and grants activities within LEO.

Qualified candidates will hold a bachelor's degree and have four years of professional experience, including progression at P11 or 12 levels. Pre-employment drug testing and background checks may be required.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in any major.
• Four years of professional experience, including two years at the experienced (P11) level or one year at the advanced (12) level.

Responsibilities

• Advises and assists the Director of Workforce Development in all areas of responsibility.
• Responds to complex inquiries and carries out research and special projects as assigned by the Director.
• Assists in program planning, policy, and procedures development; participates in budget development; oversees the grants acquisition process.
• Represents the Director at various meetings.
