Applied Industrial Technologies is seeking a Director of Risk Management, EHS, and Sustainability to lead enterprise risk, safety, and environmental initiatives. The role requires steering ERM, managing insurance, and coordinating governance across risk, EHS, and sustainability disciplines.

Strong leadership, regulatory knowledge, and a track record in regulated environments are essential for driving company-wide resilience.

Qualifications

Bachelor's degree required; Master's degree preferred.
10-15+ years of progressive experience in risk management, EHS, sustainability, or related functions.
Experience in a leadership role within a complex or regulated environment.

Responsibilities

Develop and lead the enterprise risk management (ERM) framework across the organization.
Manage insurance program, prepare bid specs, negotiate contracts with brokers, and oversee claims.
Identify, assess, and prioritize operational, financial, strategic, and regulatory risks.
Implement risk mitigation strategies and controls.
Maintain risk registers and report on risk exposure to executive leadership.
Support business continuity planning and crisis management efforts.
Coordinate emergency response programs.
Oversee all EHS programs to ensure compliance with OSHA, EPA, DOT, and other regulations.
Develop and enforce safety policies and standards; lead initiatives to reduce incidents.
Lead sustainability planning, reporting (GRI/SASB/TCFD/CDP/SEC climate disclosures).
Ensure adherence to environmental, health, safety, and sustainability regulations; coordinate with internal audits.
