We support over 36 brands across four L’Oréal divisions. We are consumer-oriented, and we act responsibly all along the value chain.

What You Will Do

This position supports Supply Chain collaboration initiatives for major retailers. L’Oreal CPD is looking for a passionate and focused business intelligence data engineer to join the Customer Supply Chain team, responsible for enterprise analytics solutions. This role manages an analytics workspace to support the broader customer team in providing practical and actionable insights on L’Oreal top retailers, behaviors, and key performance metrics including in-store and online availability, phantom inventory, and store tiers. The role leverages SQL, Power BI, and Excel to build, extract, analyze, and visualize data from various customer portals to understand performance and identify opportunities to drive consumption, maximize inventory, and reduce returns.

Responsibilities include:

  1. Develop and implement data governance frameworks: Define policies, standards, and procedures for data management across large retailers, supporting the evolution of customer analytics with new tools and initiatives.
  2. Establish and monitor data quality metrics: Identify key data quality indicators, implement profiling and monitoring processes, and ensure data accuracy, facilitating corrections as needed.
  3. Drive data quality improvement initiatives: Collaborate with stakeholders to address data issues, recommend process changes, and automate data quality checks.
  4. Foster a data-driven culture: Promote data literacy, provide training, and proactively analyze data to uncover insights about customer behavior and opportunities.
  5. Recommend and execute analytical approaches: Increase visibility around store inventory, store tier performance, and phantom inventory; support new tools and solutions integration.
  6. Research and plan for future data sources: Build models for testing and plan UAT as sources evolve.
  7. Partner with Data Domain leads and IT teams, leveraging division-agnostic databases where possible.
  8. Stay current with industry trends: Keep up with emerging data management technologies, best practices, and regulations.
Required Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s degree required.
  • 7-10 years’ experience in strategy & analytics roles.
  • Proven experience in data governance and quality management programs.
  • Experience with enterprise cloud databases, analytics, large datasets, and SQL/GBQ queries.
  • Experience with data visualization tools (Excel, Tableau, Power BI, Looker, or similar).
  • SAP system experience preferred.
  • Ability to analyze performance data and communicate findings effectively.
  • Proactive, results-oriented mindset with excellent communication skills.
  • Strong understanding of data modeling, integration, and retailer data complexities.
  • Experience in the Beauty or CPG industries is a plus.
