Job summary

Centre College in Danville, KY, seeks a Residence Life Director to oversee the housing program and provide leadership for residential life across campus. The role includes supervising professional and student staff, planning RA selection, and coordinating housing operations.

Responsibilities include developing strategic housing plans, programming assessment, crisis referrals, and coordinating with Facilities Management. A Master’s in a relevant field and 5+ years of experience are preferred.

Qualifications

• Master’s Degree in Higher Education Administration, College Student Personnel, Counseling, or related field.
• Five years of full-time experience in residence life in a college/university setting.
• Experience supervising professional and student staff.
• Excellent oral and written communication skills, incl. presenting to groups and one-to-one settings.
• Willingness to work flexible schedule including evenings/weekends.
• Familiarity with housing management software systems.

Responsibilities

• Supervise and support the Assistant Director and Area Coordinator for Residence Life & Housing.
• Lead recruitment, selection, onboarding and retention for staff.
• Create and maintain a strategic plan for student residential experience and housing utilization.
• Ensure learning outcomes are achieved through programming and assessment plans.
• Plan and facilitate RA selection and training.
• Hold weekly meetings with Residence Life & Housing staff.
• Provide crisis counseling referral as needed.
• Direct supervision of 5 Residence Directors and regular meetings with staff.
• Develop and review housing and residence life policies and procedures.
