Overview

This is a full-time remote role for a Director, Research Partnerships at Kashi Clinical Laboratories. This is a key role in supporting Kashi Clinical Laboratory's (KCL) vision of being the preferred diagnostic lab partner for existing and potential research and development organizations including CROs, IVD organizations, Academia, and Biopharma. This position requires clinical and scientific acumen, strategic mindset, strong relationship building skills, organization, attention to detail, and a passion for KCL’s mission to be the preferred provider of HLA diagnostic services. The role is required to manage and maintain existing accounts along with prospecting and closing new partnerships. The role will support KCL’s client services and operations teams ensuring high levels of customer service and problem resolution. The role will expand services within existing partners and co-create innovative opportunities securing long term partnerships. The role will serve as the primary source of information of innovation and serve as primary point of contact with external partners. Additionally, the role will support cross-selling of other KCL services, as needed.

Key Responsibilities
  • Actively prospect and close new R&D and statement of work/projects through qualification of needs and providing solutions to a variety of external stakeholders.
  • Manage and support existing R&D accounts by providing high level of customer service. This includes conducting business reviews, expansion of KCL’s services, problem resolution, and providing solutions that accelerate the accounts product portfolio.
  • Develop and execute a strategic business plan to exceed company goals and 100% retention of clients.
  • Actively build relationships through a variety of channels, such as face to face meetings, email, phone, text, and social media.
  • Be the primary point of contact in negotiating contracts with potential new clients and use persuasive techniques to overcome objections and secure relationships mutually beneficial to both the client and KCL.
  • Develop and maintain client profiles within CRM to expand additional KCL services.
  • Provide highly customer-centric services by creating the best possible customer experience.
  • Write highly personalized proposals that clearly convey KCL’s value proposition that align with the organization’s goals.
  • Represent KCL at industry tradeshows and conferences.
  • Actively follow-up on all leads.
  • Serve as voice of customer within internal stakeholders (problem solving and innovation).
Administrative Support
  • Assist in onboarding of new clients.
  • Submit expenses on a routine basis.
  • Actively maintain CRM systems (activities, account information, deals, forecasts, etc.).
  • Develop and maintain strategic territory plans with emphasis on securing new partnerships, cultivating new deals, and insulating existing partnerships.
  • Monitor competition by gathering information on pricing/products/trends in the market.
  • Develop and maintain an active plan for each customer and potential new customer.
Customer Service
  • Develop strong, positive ongoing relationships with prospects and clients.
  • See client complaints through to resolution and communicate to management.
  • Proactively conduct business reviews with accounts on a quarterly basis.
  • Answer all emails, calls and requests in a timely manner.
Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree in Science, Business, Marketing, Communications, or related field.
  • 3-5 years of clinical and/or sales experience within R&D and/or biopharma market.
  • Proven track record of meeting sales targets and exceptional account management.
  • Excellent interpersonal and negotiation skills.
  • Highly self-motivated.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills.
  • Knowledge of MS Office software, Excel and CRM software.
  • Excellent leadership and collaboration skills, including time management and problem solving.
Working Conditions
  • Minimum of 50% field travel visiting existing clients and developing prospects.
  • This position will require occasional evening or weekend hours to support events and campaigns.
  • Ability to work in an office environment or remotely (depending on organization’s policy).
