Job summary

Texas A&M University System Offices in Bryan, TX, seeks a Director of Research Development to lead development of research and business opportunities for the Center for Applied Communications and Networks (CACN). You will contribute to strategic planning, program administration, and execution of complex proposals.

The role requires coordinating with sponsors, partners, and university units, supervising proposal teams, and advancing CACN's research agenda across state and federal contexts.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's Degree in electrical engineering, computer science, or related field.
• Seven years experience in research, design, and operations for communications systems and networks, including five years of management.
• Significant experience developing projects for government agencies and/or commercial clients with winning proposals.

Responsibilities

• Lead development of strategic relationships with sponsors and partners to create opportunities for CACN.
• Oversee proposal development, including solution narratives, SOWs, budgets, and schedules.
• Serve as PI/Co-PI or collaborator on research and commercial projects as appropriate.
• Engage in outreach, conferences, publications, and other marketing activities.
• Represent the center to agencies, partners, and industry groups.
• Lead collaborative teams to respond to research proposals; develop technical requirements and system designs.
