University of Maryland — A. James Clark School of Engineering seeks an Assistant Director for Research Development to lead externally funded research programs and expand partnerships across government, industry, and academia.

You will strategize to broaden the impact of UMD research and help secure new funding opportunities for interdisciplinary projects. The role requires ITAR awareness, citizenship, and the ability to obtain a security clearance.

Qualifikationen

• Master’s degree or equivalent.
• 3–5 years business development or government/industry research experience.
• Established relationships with industry, government, academic and/or science foundation partners.
• Experience managing cost, schedule, performance metrics.
• Two years of supervisory experience.
• US citizen due to ITAR information; ability to obtain security clearance.

Aufgaben

• Provide visionary leadership and engagement to promote UMD’s role in integrated research and education and outreach.
• Support the Director of Research and PIs in winning and executing larger research programs.
• Increase research relationships and partnerships to grow research investment and impact.
• Identify and pursue non-traditional partnering opportunities and revenue sources.
