Job summary

Brookfield Asset Management Inc in New York is seeking a Director of Communications to lead day-to-day internal and external communications for U.S. and Canada office businesses within BGRE, the real estate platform managing Brookfield assets.

You will support PR efforts for global operations and report to the Head of Communications, Real Estate Corporate Operations. Brookfield’s Communications team aims to be a trusted advisor to executives, delivering clear, timely messaging across regions

Qualifications

• 7+ years of experience in PR/Communications.
• Track record of advising executives and shaping messaging.
• Ability to architect media relations strategies and interact with reporters.
• Excellent writing skills with strong storytelling.
• Experience managing reputational issues and in dense urban environments.
• Strong project management and ability to juggle multiple priorities.

Responsibilities

• Lead day-to-day property-related public relations for BGRE’s U.S. and Canada offices, handling reactive inquiries and proactive announcements.
• Develop and execute media strategies for major property assets.
• Oversee internal communications for BGRE’s U.S. and Canada office teams.
• Draft announcements, key messages, and content to tell real estate stories that support business goals.
• Provide counsel to senior executives on communications opportunities and messaging.
• Prepare executives for speaking engagements and media interviews as needed.
• Coordinate internal and external communications across global regions and real estate sectors.
• Build relationships with journalists and, when appropriate, act as media spokesperson.
• Manage external PR agency teams and lead community relations initiatives.
• Collaborate with regional teams to align Brookfield messaging across regions.
