Job summary

URBN Urban Outfitters, Inc. seeks a Director of Raw Materials to lead a strategy ensuring fabric quality, cost efficiency, and on‑time delivery across the Anthropologie brand.

You will manage the fabric team, benchmark mill opportunities, onboard mills, and optimize inventory to support global sourcing goals while aligning with brand aesthetics. The role requires deep knowledge of fabric economics, extensive travel to mills, and strong KPI analytics.

Qualifications

• Minimum 10 years experience in textile sourcing or merchandising for a fashion retailer in the US.
• Extensive knowledge of fabric, machinery and fabric manufacturing; understands RM impact on fabric economics.
• Ability to assess mills and travel internationally to mills.
• Understanding KPI reports and creating tools to assess business performance.
• Ability to work independently within PLM with accuracy and navigate ownership structures.

Responsibilities

• Manages Raw Materials for the brand and ensures fabric information and demands are met from crossfunctional partners.
• Aligns global fabric sourcing strategy with the global vendor sourcing strategy and benchmarks new opportunities.
• Onboards and assesses mills; manages inventory and lifecycle of fabric reserves.
• Sets goals across Quality / Cost / Regional penetration and Lead time; proposes KPI-driven strategies.
• Supports brand aesthetics with fabric quality and mill recommendations; develops innovative products.
