Job summary

SMG System Medical Group in Morgantown, WV seeks a Director of Radiology to lead hospital-based development and operations across WVU Medicine sites. The role focuses on identifying growth opportunities, coordinating with SMG administration and physician leadership, and steering financial plans and project timelines.

The position requires advanced degree in healthcare administration or related field and several years in management, with a preference for healthcare development and operations

Qualifications

• Master’s degree in business, healthcare administration, or related field is required.
• Three (3) years of management or healthcare administrative experience required, or a Bachelor’s with five (5) years.
• Experience in healthcare development and ongoing operations is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Identifies new opportunities for growth in assigned service lines including hospital-based physician services.
• Serves as primary partner between SMG Core Administration, local hospitals, and leadership teams.
• Develops business plans with financial projections and project timelines.
• Manages transition of physicians and APPs to SMG WVUM, ensuring communication and scope adherence.
• Partners with WVU Medicine leaders on developing new sites of services.
• Develops plans for new clinical sites and provides administrative leadership to locations.
• Oversees budgets, staffing decisions, and adherence to WVU Medicine policies.
• Acts as first point of contact for contracting, compensation, benefits, and operations for physicians and APPs.
• Co-leads monthly project meetings with assigned WVU Medicine service lines.
• Analyses performance and reports to hospital leadership; identifies revenue cycle improvements.
