Job summary

Revance in Johnson City, TN is seeking a Director, R&D - Formulation & Tech Transfer to lead formulation development and technical transfer for cosmetic and OTC skincare products, including scale-up and coordination with Manufacturing for successful commercial production.

This role blends hands-on science with people management, guiding prototype development, stability testing, and product performance evaluation while ensuring quality, regulatory, and customer alignment.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree and 10+ years of directly related experience.
• Advanced degree in Chemistry or related field preferred.
• Deep expertise in formulation development and tech transfer.
• Proven leadership of R&D teams in a fast-paced environment.

Responsibilities

• Develop and execute formulation strategies aligned with business goals.
• Lead formulation design, development, optimization, and scale-up.
• Oversee prototype development, stability testing, and product performance evaluation.
• Ensure products meet quality, regulatory, and customer requirements.
• Provide technical leadership for formulation and manufacturing challenges.
• Manage multiple development projects and allocate resources effectively.
• Collaborate with Quality, Manufacturing, Marketing and external partners.
• Maintain development documentation and support regulatory submissions.
