Job summary

GlobalFoundries seeks a Director-level Superconducting Technology Architect in Malta, NY to lead the definition, development, and delivery of superconducting quantum and digital technologies for customer programs.

The role integrates device, process, design, test, packaging, foundry operations, and program execution; guides internal and external R&D; and serves as a senior technical and customer-facing authority for GF leadership.

Qualifications

• MS or PhD in Physics, Electrical Engineering, Applied Physics, or Materials Science.
• 15+ years in semiconductor technology, superconducting electronics or related field.
• Experience leading complex technology programs and foundry collaboration.
• Deep expertise in Josephson-junction devices, superconducting qubits, cryogenic operation.
• Proven ability to translate architectures into scalable foundry processes.

Responsibilities

• Develop and influence long-term roadmaps for superconducting qubits and digital logic.
• Translate requirements into materials, processes, device structures and test vehicles.
• Lead multidisciplinary engineering teams; recruit, mentor, and manage program delivery.
• Drive process integration, tape-outs, qualification, and new product introduction.
• Communicate choices, risks, and investments to GF executives and customers.
