Job summary

General Dynamics Ordnance and Tactical Systems (OTS) seeks a seasoned professional to develop and implement process control methods, improve testing and inspection, and ensure products meet design specifications. You will design testing equipment, analyze data, and drive corrective actions in collaboration with suppliers.

The role requires leadership of managers, oversight of multiple teams, and responsibilities for hiring, performance management, and budget adherence.

Qualifications

  • Associate's Degree and 8-10 years' experience OR Equivalent Combination of Relevant Education &/or Experience.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint)

Responsibilities

  • Develops and implements methods and procedures for process control, process improvement, testing and inspection to ensure products are free of flaws and function as designed.
  • Designs and installs sophisticated testing equipment and performs product testing and analysis to maintain quality levels and minimize defects and failure rates.
  • Analyzes reports and defective products to determine trends and recommend corrective actions.
  • Collaborates with supplier representatives on quality problems, ensures effective corrective actions are implemented and contributes to supplier quality improvement programs.

Job Summary

Essential Functions
  • Manages inspections of raw materials, equipment, processes and finished products.
  • Implements quality standards and ensures protocols are followed for quality assurance testing models.
  • Assists in the design and implementation of policies and procedures for testing and evaluating the precision and accuracy of products and/or equipment.
  • Ensures projects are completed on time and within budget.
  • Leads and directs the work of other employees and has responsibility for personnel actions including hiring, performance management, and termination with concurrence from HR & General Managers.
Required Qualifications

Required education and experience: Associate's Degree and 8-10 years' experience OR Equivalent Combination of Relevant Education &/or Experience

Critical professional related technical skills; computer skills: Proficient in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint)

  • Preferred education and experience: Bachelor's Degree
  • Discipline/Major: Engineering degree preferred

Physical Requirements
  • Must be able to remain in a stationary position at a desk and/or computer for extended periods of time.
  • Requires regular movement throughout GD-OTS facilities.
  • May need to stand for long periods of time.
  • Work primarily in a climate-controlled environment with minimal safety/health hazard potential.
  • Work may require employee to work inside and outside with exposure to changing climate and/or operate machinery.
Travel Requirements

Up to 25% travel likely.

Pay Range (USD)

$132,200.00 - $170,000.00

Within the range, individual pay is determined by work location and additional factors, including job-related skills, experience, internal equity, and relevant education or training.
