Job description

Ponte Firm is where influence turns into business. We represent 100+ of the most culturally relevant creators, reaching over 40 million people across platforms. But we’re not just talent managers — we’re operators at the intersection of content, commerce, and culture. We help creators build real businesses and partner with brands that actually move the needle. We move fast, think commercially, and care deeply about the work.

We operate on a hybrid schedule: Mondays and Fridays remote, in-office Tuesday through Thursday. This role can be based in New York, Austin or LA, and may require travel between our offices for client meetings and key industry moments.

About the Role

The Director, Publicity & Communications serves as a key member of the Ponte team, reporting to the Managing Director and partnering closely with leadership and talent management teams to develop and execute strategic communications initiatives for the firm and select talent.

This role will lead Ponte’s internal publicity and communications strategy while serving as a strategic PR partner to key clients, developing tailored publicity strategies that elevate their profiles, strengthen their positioning, and maximize opportunities around tentpole moments, brand partnerships, and cultural events. The ideal candidate is a proactive storyteller and relationship builder with strong media instincts, excellent executional skills, and the ability to translate business and talent priorities into compelling publicity opportunities.

What You’ll Do
Internal Firm Publicity & Communications
  • Lead the overall publicity and communications strategy for Ponte, strengthening the firm’s positioning, visibility, and reputation across the talent management and broader brand ecosystem.
  • Partner with leadership to develop and refine key messaging, narratives, and talking points that communicate Ponte’s vision, expertise, growth, and differentiated market position.
  • Identify and proactively pursue strategic media opportunities for Ponte leadership, including broadcast, print, digital, podcasts, events, and industry-specific platforms.
  • Build and maintain relationships with relevant editors, journalists, producers, podcast hosts, and industry stakeholders to support ongoing media outreach and coverage.
  • Develop and maintain communications calendar aligned with firm announcements, leadership milestones, talent signings, business growth, and key cultural moments.
  • Lead awards strategy, identifying relevant opportunities, managing submissions, and coordinating materials with internal stakeholders.
  • Monitor news cycles and cultural conversations to identify opportunities for timely commentary, newsjacking, and thought leadership.
  • Develop and execute communications strategies around key tentpole moments, including Fashion Week, Coachella, Cannes, and other relevant cultural and industry events.
  • Draft and oversee press materials, media pitches, executive talking points, announcements, and other communications assets.
  • Track and report on media outreach, secured coverage, and communications impact, identifying opportunities to refine and strengthen the firm’s strategy.
Talent Publicity & Strategic Communications
  • Own and manage publicity strategy for a select roster of Ponte talent, serving as a strategic PR partner in collaboration with their respective Talent Director(s) and Manager(s).
  • Develop individualized publicity strategies that align with each talent’s brand, business objectives, audience, partnerships, and growth opportunities.
  • Partner with talent management teams to establish clear messaging, positioning, media targets, and publicity priorities for individual talent.
  • Identify and cultivate relationships with relevant media, editors, producers, podcast hosts, and other industry contacts to generate meaningful opportunities for talent.
  • Develop and execute proactive media outreach across broadcast, print, digital, podcasts, events, and other relevant platforms.
  • Proactively identify and pitch compelling story angles around talent milestones, cultural moments, brand collaborations, and timely news opportunities.
  • Facilitate and coordinate media interviews, appearances, speaking opportunities, podcast bookings, and other publicity engagements, ensuring talent is prepared and supported throughout the process.
  • Develop media briefing materials, talking points, interview preparation, and messaging guidance to ensure talent is positioned effectively and consistently.
  • Support the development of long‑term talent positioning, helping clients build credibility, expand their media presence, and create opportunities beyond individual brand partnerships.
  • Monitor and evaluate media coverage, maintaining organized reporting on outreach, placements, and key publicity outcomes.
  • Provide proactive counsel to management teams and talent on emerging opportunities, relevant news cycles, and potential reputational considerations.
  • Manage multiple talent publicity initiatives simultaneously, balancing competing priorities and ensuring timely, high‑quality execution.
Must‑Have Experience
  • Minimum 3-5 years of experience in public relations and communications within the creator, entertainment or fashion space
  • Deep understanding of the creator economy and social media ecosystem
  • Proven track record in securing top‑tier PR coverage
  • Strong network
  • Experience leading press strategy for individuals (specifically in the creator and entertainment space)
  • Strong strategic and creative instincts around storytelling and integrated campaign planning
