Washington Housing Authority is seeking a Director of Housing Services to lead the Section 8 and Public Housing programs. You will oversee operations, manage budgets, and ensure compliance with HUD guidelines and agency policies.

The role requires a Bachelor's degree and at least five years of administrative and supervisory experience in housing management, with strong knowledge of SEMAP and PHAS, and a focus on continuous program improvement.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Public Administration, Business, or closely related field.
• 5+ years of progressively responsible administrative and supervisory experience in public housing or similar setting.
• Strong knowledge of HUD programs (PHAS/SEMAP) and related regulations.
• Ability to develop policies, procedures, and long-range plans.

Responsibilities

• Oversees management of Public Housing properties, ensuring fiscal soundness and compliance with HUD and agency policies.
• Oversees Housing Choice Voucher/Section 8 administrative plan to maintain high ratings under SEMAP.
• Guides and develops the Family Self-Sufficiency program, linking residents with social services and educational supports.
• Reviews HUD rules and agency procedures to ensure audit readiness and quality standards.
• Leads strategic planning, budgeting, and performance improvement to meet targets.
• Manages site information, turnover data, and reporting for funding and fees.
