Job summary

Anheuser-Busch is seeking a Director of Public Affairs in Washington, DC to lead corporate communications tied to policy priorities and manage key third-party stakeholders. The role sits within the Corporate Communications Team and collaborates across functions to shape the company’s public policy narrative.

You will develop 360-degree strategic communications plans, drive advocacy efforts, and oversee media relations, crisis response, and grassroots engagement for a major consumer-facing brand

Qualifications

  • Minimum of 7-10 years of communications experience at a large organization or a leading PR agency.
  • Experience working in public affairs, on political campaigns, or with state or federal elected officials.
  • Experience at or with a company with major, consumer-facing brands.
  • Experience in beverage / brewing or another highly regulated industry a huge plus.
  • Ability to develop 360-degree strategic communications plans and drive successful execution.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication, with a distinct ability to distill complex ideas into simple, understandable messaging.
  • Strong relationship management skills, with the ability to build lasting partnerships (external and internal).
  • Highly collaborative team player with an ability to juggle multiple initiatives with a positive attitude.

Responsibilities

  • Lead corporate communications efforts tied to policy priorities and manage key third-party stakeholders.
  • Shape and enhance corporate reputation through media relations, messaging, and coalition management.
  • Oversee crisis response and grassroots engagement in coordination with the Public Affairs team.
  • Develop strategic advocacy and public policy communications programs aligned with government affairs objectives.
  • Identify partnership opportunities with key external groups and opinion leaders to advance priorities.
  • Lead issue campaigns and corporate reputation initiatives with storytelling, briefs, and fact sheets.
  • Coordinate with internal teams and breweries to spotlight leadership, partnerships, and initiatives.

The Public Affairs Director will lead corporate communications efforts tied to policy priorities, guides advocacy engagement, and manages key third-party stakeholders.
