Department of Psychology:

The Department of Psychology at UCF has over 50 full‑time faculty, approximately 4,500 undergraduate majors, and houses Ph.D. programs in Clinical Psychology, Human Factors and Cognitive Psychology, and I/O Psychology. For more information, visit https://sciences.ucf.edu/psychology/.

The Opportunity

UCF’s Department of Psychology seeks a full‑time director for its in‑house Psychology Clinic, which provides assessment and psychotherapy to adults in Central Florida on a sliding‑scale fee system. Graduate students in the Clinical Psychology Ph.D. Program provide direct clinical services under close supervision of licensed psychologists.

This staff position reports to the Program Director, a faculty member in the Clinical Psychology Ph.D. Program, and is compensated competitively based on experience and qualifications.

Responsibilities

• Supervise graduate students in clinical practicum.
• Supervise clinic staff and direct overall clinic operations.
• Oversee use of clinical records software and handling of release‑of‑information requests.
• Maintain security of private health information.
• Provide coverage for clinical emergencies during operating hours.
• Develop and maintain relationships with referring agencies.
• Lead initiatives that support continuous improvement of the clinic.

Minimum Qualifications

A doctorate in clinical or counseling psychology from an APA‑accredited program, completion of an APA‑accredited internship or closely related field, and a minimum of four years of relevant experience.

Must possess a current clinical license in the jurisdiction of practice and be eligible for a Florida license at time of hire. The candidate must be licensed by the State of Florida within six months of hire and maintain that license thereafter.

Preferred Qualifications

• Competence with and primary orientation in empirically supported assessment and psychotherapy approaches.
• Four or more years of related experience after receiving the doctoral degree.
• Previous experience with clinical supervision of trainees using empirically supported approaches with adult patients.
• Previous experience providing and/or supervising teletherapy.
• Licensed as a Psychologist in the United States.

Special Instructions to Applicants

Salary range: $98,000 to negotiate, based on qualifications, experience, and internal equity considerations.

Position is full-time (40 hours per week), generally Monday through Friday. Two evening shifts per week (until 7:00 PM) are expected, with flexibility to adjust specific days and times based on clinic needs.
