Job Summary

Director, Property Account Engineer responsible for providing in-depth portfolio management of a dedicated underwriting team of 5‑10 underwriters in the Property line of business (HPR – Highly Protected Risk).

Responsibilities

• Work with underwriters to review incoming submissions and advise on necessary engineering support.
• Review in‑force accounts of the underwriting team to determine the status of open engineering aspects (recommendations, surveys, service), account performance, and whether additional engineering support is warranted.
• Determine which accounts merit engineering services.
• Coordinate service for the team’s accounts.

Required Skills

• Extensive experience conducting HPR Property surveys.
• Extensive experience servicing HPR Property accounts.
• Strong competency in analyzing loss data and using Microsoft suite tools and applications.
• Excellent communication skills for working with underwriters, policy holders, and brokers.
• Solid time‑management skills.
• Strong industry expertise in manufacturing, real estate, and hospitality.

Education

• Engineering or comparable degree/experience.

Compensation and Benefits

Base salary ranges (time of posting):

• Chicago, IL: $133,300 to $179,964 per year.
• In Iowa, Michigan, Ohio, Wisconsin: $114,800 to $154,969 per year.

Additional compensation and benefits (incentive eligible):

• Individual compensation may include base salary and short‑term and long‑term incentives.
