Overview

Director, Project Delivery & Transformation

US Remote (East Coast ideally or able to work East Coast hours)

OptymEdge partners with study teams to provide visual function certification that ensures a high level of quality and consistency for ophthalmic clinical trial data.

Primary Purpose

As OptymEdge expands its service offerings beyond certification and into broader clinical trial support and technology-enabled delivery models, this role will lead the transformation of our operational delivery function. The Director of Project Delivery and Transformation will own the end-to-end delivery of clinical trial services, with a particular focus on ophthalmology, and ensure alignment between client expectations, internal capabilities, and digital innovation initiatives.


Responsibilities

  • Own and lead the global project delivery function, ensuring operational excellence across all clinical trial services, including certification, imaging, and ophthalmology-specific trial support.
  • Provide strategic leadership to managers within the project delivery group, setting expectations, mentoring performance, and fostering a culture of accountability and collaboration.
  • Translate organizational strategy into operational plans that integrate cross-functional teams, including product, technology, and data functions.
  • Champion process modernization, system adoption, and change management across teams to improve delivery speed, quality, and scalability.
  • Serve as a key partner to the Head of Technology & Innovation, ensuring project delivery aligns with product roadmaps and digital infrastructure initiatives.
  • Ensure delivery models meet the unique needs and regulatory standards of ophthalmology clinical trials, including endpoint management and image-based assessments.
  • Act as a senior representative to key sponsors and partners, providing oversight and ensuring delivery success on complex, global ophthalmology programs.
  • Drive a culture of continuous improvement through the use of metrics, data-driven decision-making, and client feedback.
  • Identify future leadership needs within the delivery organization and actively contribute to succession planning and professional development.
  • Serve as a member of the OptymEdge Leadership Team.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in a scientific or technical discipline (advanced degree preferred).
  • Minimum 10 years' experience in clinical research or clinical trials, with at least 7 years in progressive project delivery leadership roles.
  • Demonstrated experience in ophthalmology clinical trials is required.
  • Experience managing globally distributed teams.
  • Prior experience supporting or integrating with product or technology functions is highly desirable.
