Job summary

Worley Group, Inc. is seeking a senior leader to develop and drive strategic project controls programs across cost, estimating, and scheduling for complex energy and resources projects.

You will lead project controls teams across multiple locations, shaping standards, tools, and reporting to ensure predictable delivery and value creation. The role emphasizes senior advisory capabilities, collaboration with regional leadership, and mentoring teams toward sustainable, responsible execution aligned

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in project management, engineering, construction management, or a related discipline.
  • Extensive experience in project controls within energy, chemicals, or resources industries with progressive leadership roles.
  • Understanding of cost engineering, planning and scheduling, and estimating in large-scale projects.

Key Responsibilities
  • Develop and lead the implementation of strategic project controls programs across disciplines such as cost control, estimating, and scheduling to support the successful execution of customer projects and internal initiatives.
  • Provide leadership to project controls teams across locations or major projects, establishing a shared vision aligned with Worley's direction toward delivering sustainable change.
  • Oversee the development of systems, tools, and reporting mechanisms to ensure transparency, predictability, and control in project delivery.
  • Serve as the senior advisor on project controls-related matters, driving consistency in standards, tools, and best practices across projects and teams.
  • Collaborate with regional and location leadership to ensure project controls strategies support both current objectives and future sustainability-related targets.
  • Inspire and mentor team members, fostering a culture of accountability, safety, and professional growth that aligns with Worley's values and commitment to sustainable transformation.
  • Represent project controls in key decision-making forums, providing strategic insights to influence project planning and execution at a portfolio level.
  • Lead cross-functional efforts aimed at improving performance, integrating digital technologies, and enhancing delivery models in alignment with client expectations and internal goals.
Qualifications / Skill Set
  • A university degree or equivalent qualification in project management, engineering, construction management, or a related discipline.
  • Extensive experience in project controls within the energy, chemicals, or resources industries, with progressive leadership roles demonstrating strategic impact.
  • A deep understanding of project services functions including cost engineering, planning and scheduling, and estimating within large-scale project environments.
  • Proven ability to lead diverse teams and influence across functions and organizational levels in a collaborative and inclusive manner.
  • Expertise in project management systems and tools, with the ability to guide others and contribute to process improvements and system innovations.
  • Strong communication skills with the ability to present complex information and recommendations to senior stakeholders with clarity and confidence.
  • Demonstrated experience making independent decisions that affect long‑range plans, business performance, and team development.
  • A leadership style that reflects Worley's promise to be the straight‑talking partner the industry needs, while guiding teams toward shared goals of sustainable change.
