Huntington Ingalls Industries’ Uncrewed Systems (UxS) division seeks a Director of Programs 2 to guide the UUV business with end-to-end program leadership, cost/schedule oversight, and strategic execution. This opportunity resides with Uncrewed Systems (UxS), a business group within HII’s Mission Technologies division. Uncrewed Systems comprises unmanned underwater vehicles (UUVs), unmanned surface vehicles (USVs) and autonomy software.

As the Director of Programs 2, you will:

  • Responsible for the overall P&L management of the UUV business area.
  • Maintains a strong customer-centric and employee-focused culture based upon trust.
  • Executes UUV business pipeline in collaboration with Unmanned Systems functional managers.
  • Expands and grow pipeline in collaboration with the Business Development organization.
  • Makes strategic recommendations on the direction for the UUV business and execute strategic objectives.
  • Develops and lead a high-performing team, including those matrixed from functional areas that is focused on rapidly bringing innovation, product delivery and the best possible support to customers.
  • Acts as primary customer contact for program activities, leading program review sessions with customer to discuss cost, schedule, and technical performance.
  • Establishes milestones and monitors adherence to master plans and schedules, identifies program problems and obtains solutions, such as allocation of resources or changing contractual specifications.
  • Directs the work of employees assigned to the program from technical, manufacturing and administrative areas.
What you will be doing..

Sets and drives strategy. Sets overall budget schedules. Ensures performance standards are realistic and attainable. Participates with other top management in establishing and ensuring the implementation of policies and strategies for the company. Interprets, executes, and recommends modifications to companywide policies. Responsible for the successful operation of activities that have significant consequence to the organization. Accountable for ensuring that overall budgets, schedules, and performance standards are met. Directs all phases of programs from inception through completion. Responsible for the cost, schedule and technical performance of company programs or subsystems of major programs. Participates in the negotiation of contract and contract changes. Coordinates the preparation of proposals, business plans, proposal work statements and specifications, operating budgets and financial terms/conditions of contract. Acts as primary customer contact for program activities, leading program review sessions with customer to discuss cost, schedule, and technical performance. Establishes design concepts, criteria and engineering efforts for product research, development, integration and test. Develops new business or expands the product line with the customer. Establishes milestones and monitors adherence to master plans and schedules, identifies program problems and obtains solutions, such as allocation of resources or changing contractual specifications. Directs the work of employees assigned to the program from technical, manufacturing and administrative areas.

What we are looking for..
  • 10 years relevant progressive experience with Bachelors in related field; or 8 years relevant progressive experience with Masters in related field.
  • Must have UUV Senior Program Managment experience
  • Must have the ability to obtain and maintain a goverment clearance #LI-MH1
