Greyson Clothiers in Detroit, MI is seeking a Director, Production – Special Projects, Licensing & Custom to lead end‑to‑end production and decoration for non‑mainline categories, collaborations, and licensed products. This on‑site role reports to the Vice President of Production and must manage tight timelines.

The ideal candidate has 8+ years in apparel production and proven leadership, with strong vendor management, budgeting, ERP/PLM experience, and hands‑on problem solving.

Qualifications

• Based in Detroit and able to work on-site; relocation required if not local.
• 8+ years in apparel production, sourcing, operations, or supply chain with leadership experience.
• Strong technical knowledge of apparel manufacturing, including knit and woven cut‑and‑sew production and garment customization.
• Experience with embroidery, DTF, heat press, screen printing, patch application.
• Exceptional project‑management and organizational skills, with attention to detail and follow-through.
• Strong vendor-management, negotiation, and cross‑functional collaboration across domestic and offshore partners.

Responsibilities

• Provide leadership for the Special Projects, Licensing, and Custom production team with clear ownership, priorities, and performance expectations.
• Own end‑to‑end production execution for non‑mainline categories, from feasibility to finished goods delivery.
• Create structure across a complex project pipeline with calendars, WIP reports, line sheets, and decision logs.
• Communicate tradeoffs, risks, and delivery implications quickly and directly.
• Partner with Design, Merchandising, Sales, Marketing, Planning, Logistics, and Wholesale Fulfillment to translate launches into executable production plans.
• Evaluate feasibility, lead times, capacity, cost, quality, and risk before commitments.
• Develop calendars covering raw materials to finished goods delivery.
• Secure and manage domestic and offshore factory and decoration capacity.
