Summary of Position:

The Production Director at the company provides strategic and operational leadership across complex client programs, driving project delivery, client satisfaction, financial performance, and operational excellence. This role leads production strategy and execution for key client relationships, including multi-million-dollar retainer programs and integrated event roadmaps spanning large-scale tentpole experiences and scalable, multi-market field marketing initiatives. Working closely with agency leadership and cross-functional teams, the Director aligns resources and budgets, elevates production standards, and develops high-performing teams.

Job Responsibilities:
Project Delivery
  • Lead production across multiple concurrent programs, directly executive producing select high-priority projects as needed.
  • Develop annual production plans and integrated event roadmaps for retainer clients, spanning market launches, tentpole activations, tradeshows, field marketing, pop-ups and partnerships.
  • Establish repeatable delivery frameworks for multi-market field marketing and recurring activations, ensuring consistent quality, local-market coordination and efficiency.
  • Oversee teams from concept through execution, setting clear ownership, production standards and decision-making expectations.
  • Partner with Creative, Strategy, Account Management and Partnerships to align client objectives with scope, timelines and budget.
  • Resolve production challenges proactively, escalating material client, financial or operational risks appropriately.
Client & Stakeholder Management
  • Own production delivery across a primary strategic client portfolio, with oversight of additional assigned accounts as priorities and capacity allow.
  • Build trusted relationships with senior client stakeholders, advising on program priorities, production approach and budget allocation.
  • Guide teams in managing client expectations and scope; partner with agency leadership to align programs with business objectives and strengthen long-term relationships.
Budget & Resource Management
  • Own budgets, forecasts, cost projections and change orders across assigned programs, identifying margin and scope risks early.
  • Deliver programs to established quality and profitability targets, partnering with Finance and Account leadership to maintain timely, accurate financial reporting.
  • Lead portfolio-wide staffing and capacity planning, allocating internal resources and external support across concurrent programs.
  • Manage senior vendor and freelance relationships, negotiating rates and terms to balance cost, quality and long-term partnerships.
Team Management
  • Lead and coach Executive Producers and production leads, establishing clear accountability, delegation and autonomy.
  • Recruit, onboard and develop team members, supporting skill-building and career growth.
  • Build a collaborative, high-performing production culture.
Leadership & Operational Strategy
  • Partner with production and agency leadership on departmental objectives and broader business initiatives.
  • Improve production processes, scalable operating practices and delivery standards across client programs.
Qualifications:
  • 10+ years of production experience in the experiential or event industry.
  • Experience leading multi-million-dollar client accounts, ongoing retainers or similarly complex production portfolios within an agency or production environment.
  • Proven ability to supervise multiple teams and concurrent high-profile, large-scale productions.
  • Experience overseeing both bespoke tentpole experiences and repeatable, geographically distributed field marketing activations.
  • Ability to build senior client relationships and lead cross-functional agency teams; strong judgment, communication and negotiation skills.
  • Commercial acumen in forecasting, profitability, scope control and resource planning, with knowledge of industry best practices and compliance requirements.
Requirements:
  • Must be able to remain in a stationary position 50% or more of the time while working remotely and in a standing position 50% or more of the time while working offsite
