Job description

Hi there! Thanks for stopping by

Are you actively looking for a new opportunity? Or just checking the market? Well… you might just be in the right place!

As Director, Product Management, you will define strategy and drive execution across Lightspeed’s Instore Selling product portfolio, shaping key differentiators across services, AI‑driven insights, and the broader customer experience. You will translate customer and market insights into a compelling, multi‑year vision, align senior stakeholders and cross functional teams around strategic priorities, and build capabilities and operating models needed to deliver measurable merchant and business impacts.

Beyond leading individual product teams, you will connect strategy across multiple product areas, identify portfolio‑wide opportunities and challenges, and make strategic trade‑offs that maximize customer and business value.

You will bring demonstrated experience setting strategy at a scale materially larger than a single product or team, having shaped direction across a broad portfolio, platform, business unit, or company‑level domain.

As a passionate advocate for our retailers, you will elevate product thinking across the organization, develop exceptional product leaders and teams, and foster a culture of strategic clarity, collaboration, and accountability to deliver meaningful outcomes at pace.

What you’ll be doing:

  • Set product strategy and vision
    • Define and communicate a multi‑year product strategy across a substantial portfolio or business area, aligned with broader company priorities.
    • Guide investment and prioritization decisions using customer insights, data, market dynamics, competitive intelligence, and business outcomes.
    • Partner with cross‑functional leaders to identify opportunities for growth, revenue, customer satisfaction, and operational efficiency.
  • Lead portfolio execution and outcomes
    • Own strategy, execution, and measurable outcomes across multiple product areas, platforms, or a substantial portfolio.
    • Translate strategy into clear objectives, investment priorities, and operating practices that empower teams to discover, test, and deliver impactful solutions.
    • Address systemic challenges across teams and hold the organization accountable for customer and business outcomes.
  • Build and lead a high‑performing product organization
    • Hire, develop, and retain exceptional product leaders and managers, strengthening strategic thinking, product judgment, and outcome ownership.
    • Elevate product management practices, organizational capabilities, and operating models across the business.
    • Foster an inclusive, collaborative culture that empowers teams to make effective decisions and take shared accountability.
  • Influence and communicate
    • Build executive and cross‑functional alignment around product strategy, priorities, and trade‑offs.
    • Communicate complex customer, market, and business challenges clearly to drive decisions and action.
    • Strengthen customer and retailer empathy across the organization while balancing speed, quality, and long‑term value.

What you need to bring:

  • Significant product management experience within software or technology companies, with a proven track record of delivering measurable business and customer impact across multiple product areas.
  • Demonstrated experience setting and executing strategy at a portfolio, platform, business unit, or organizational level, beyond the scope of a single product or team.
  • Strong strategic and portfolio management capabilities, with the ability to prioritize investments, navigate trade‑offs, and make high‑impact decisions across multiple planning horizons.
  • Experience leading through product leaders and managers, including hiring, developing, coaching, and building high‑performing teams and leadership capabilities.
  • Deep understanding of modern product management practices, including product discovery, delivery, experimentation, and outcome‑based planning.
  • Ability to translate customer insights, market trends, competitive intelligence, and business objectives into clear product strategies and measurable outcomes.
  • Proven ability to influence and collaborate effectively with stakeholders at all levels, from individual contributors to executive leadership, across Engineering, Design, Sales, Marketing, Operations, Finance, Legal, and other functions.
  • Exceptional strategic thinking and judgment, with the ability to connect customer needs, market opportunities, product investments, and organizational priorities.
  • Strong customer advocacy and empathy for the needs and challenges of retailers and other local businesses.
  • Excellent communication and storytelling skills, with the ability to articulate strategy, build alignment, and adapt messaging to diverse audiences.
  • A collaborative, low‑ego leadership style that builds trust, navigates ambiguity, and drives alignment without relying solely on formal authority.
  • Resilience, curiosity, and a bias toward action, continuous learning, and measurable impact.
  • A university degree or equivalent practical experience.

You’ll enjoy:

  • A flexible work environment that empowers you to do your best work
  • A culture that celebrates performance
  • The chance to make an impact in a team that’s big enough for career growth, but lean enough to make your voice heard
  • Career‑defining opportunities

Plus benefits designed to keep you happy, healthy and fulfilled.

  • Health and wellness credit so you feel your best
  • Time off to volunteer and give back to your community
  • Interest groups, employee led networks, social committees to sponsored sports teams
