Job summary

Mattel is seeking a Director, Product Development to lead the Development workstream for a complex portfolio and a new brand, aligning technical direction, product requirements, manufacturing readiness, cost, quality, safety, and schedule from concept through commercialization.

Reporting directly to the SVP, the role partners with Design, Engineering, Manufacturing, Quality, Sourcing, Finance, Brand, licensors, and stakeholders to resolve risks, establish governance, and ensure readiness for

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree required; advanced degree preferred.
• 10+ years in product development, development program management, engineering, manufacturing, or related field.
• Experience leading teams and managing complex development programs or portfolios.

Responsibilities

• Lead the Development workstream across a complex product portfolio and new brand.
• Serve as senior development decision-maker for feasibility, specs, tooling, manufacturing readiness, quality, cost, and schedule trade-offs.
• Drive production-readiness alignment across cross-functional teams and ensure integrated plans before launch.
