Job description

Director, Product, Customer, and Lifecycle Marketing

Remote

Garner's mission is to transform the healthcare economy, delivering high-quality and affordable care for all. By helping employers restructure their healthcare benefits to provide clear incentives and data-driven insights, we direct employees to higher quality and lower cost healthcare providers. The result is that patients get better health outcomes while doctors are rewarded for practicing well, not performing more procedures. We are backed by top-tier venture capital firms, are growing rapidly, and are looking to expand our team.

We seek an experienced and versatile Product Marketing Leader to lead our product marketing team focused on content, product marketing, customer marketing, and sales enablement. This role is a critical part of the marketing leadership team and will be instrumental in designing and owning significant parts of our go-to-market strategy. As part of this role, you’ll regularly collaborate with the executive leadership team.

Responsibilities will include:
  1. Build a strong product marketing core
    • Design, build, and evolve our messaging and positioning frameworks with a focus on differentiation in the market.
    • Utilize prospect/customer/industry feedback, data, and analytics to guide messaging and content decisions, optimizing for audience engagement and evangelism.
    • Ensure all messaging and content is on-brand, consistent in style, quality, and tone, and optimized for different channels and target audiences.
  2. Build a content production machine.
    • Design a production framework to prioritize projects based on measurable business value.
    • Create content themes for the calendar year and align marketing activities around those themes.
    • Develop a streamlined content-generation engine with the right talent in the right roles to maintain a high-quality bar while also maximizing production speed.
  3. Build and manage a high-performing team.
    • Lead and inspire a team of product marketers, content creators, editors, and strategists, fostering a culture of creativity and excellence in content production.
    • Establish and enforce accountability frameworks to ensure team members meet deliverables and adhere to content quality standards.
    • Create and maintain a framework for measuring and delivering success, including setting clear goals, metrics, and processes for continuous improvement.
  4. Be a strong cross-functional partner.
    • Collaborate with other departments for a cohesive and integrated go-to-market approach aligned with overall company initiatives.
    • Enable our customer-facing teams with material that makes each an expert, improving rep ramp times, deal velocity, and win rates.
    • Foster customer relationships, maximize customer reference ability and produce high-quality material that our team loves and uses regularly.
    • Create an industry knowledge center of excellence for employees and customers.
The ideal candidate has:
  • A proven ability to execute strategically with a focus on measurable outcomes, building and developing a high-performing team in a fast-growing SaaS company.
  • Success leading product marketing in a multi-product SaaS company focusing on new categories and category evangelism.
  • Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills, capable of engaging effectively with various stakeholders.
  • Relevant persona and product experience in healthcare benefits is a strong plus.
  • Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to adapt to changing priorities and deadlines.
  • A strong sense of ownership and accountability, with a commitment to delivering high-quality work.
  • Self-starter with an entrepreneurial mentality and experience working on complex, ambiguous, and fast-moving projects across multiple teams.
  • A strong sense of compelling storytelling that can turn complex product information into concrete value propositions that emotionally resonate with our audience.
  • A willingness to “roll up your sleeves” and do whatever is necessary to ensure company success.
  • Experience working in a rapidly evolving startup environment.
  • A desire to be a part of our mission to improve the U.S. healthcare system.
What we look for at Garner:
  • Mission First: Our mission is to transform our healthcare system, delivering high-quality and affordable care to all. Everything else is secondary.
  • Expect Extraordinary: Our mission is audacious, so we will only succeed by producing exceptional results. We continually push ourselves and each other to new heights and beyond our comfort zones.
  • Courageous Communication: Transparency and candor are imperative to realizing our potential as an organization and as individuals—even when uncomfortable. Many companies talk about these values. We live them.
  • Supportive community: People do their best work and learn the most when they feel genuinely supported and cared for. It’s also more fun that way.
