Job summary

Children’s Health in Dallas, TX is seeking a Director of Privacy to lead the Privacy Program across the system. You will supervise a Privacy Team, manage regulatory compliance initiatives, and partner with the CPO to implement privacy controls and training across clinical and administrative units.

The role requires in-depth knowledge of HIPAA, state privacy laws, and privacy technologies, with experience in audits, investigations and risk assessments.

Qualifications

• Seven+ years applying state and federal privacy regulations
• Experience with EHR/EMR privacy tech and systems like HIPAA
• Knowledge of HIPAA, state privacy laws and 42 CFR Part 2

Responsibilities

• Develop, oversee and maintain a Privacy Program aligned with regulatory expectations
• Manage daily Privacy Program operations including staff supervision
• Provide leadership, coaching and staff development
• Lead privacy initiatives across the CHST network
• Draft, revise and update privacy policies and governance documents
• Deliver privacy training programs for staff and clinicians
• Conduct and oversee investigations into privacy incidents and breaches
• Maintain incident logs and assist with breach notification and action planning
• Perform privacy risk assessments and targeted audits
• Collaborate with Legal, IT and Cybersecurity to implement privacy controls
• Review data use requests and assess privacy risk in emerging tech like AI
