# DIRECTOR, PRACTICE ANALYTICSHybrid • Callen-Lorde Community Health Center - Manhattan - New York, NY 10011## OverviewSalary Range$145,000.00 - $175,000.00 Salary/yearPosition TypeFull TimeJob ShiftAnyEducation LevelGraduate DegreeCategoryHealth Care## Description**About Us**Callen-Lorde is the global leader in LGBTQ+ healthcare. Since the days of Stonewall, we have been transforming lives in LGBTQ+ communities through excellent comprehensive care, provided free of judgment and regardless of ability to pay. In addition, we are continuously pioneering research, advocacy and education to drive positive change around the world, because we believe healthcare is a human right.**Our Mission**Callen-Lorde Community Health Center provides sensitive, quality health care and related services targeted to New York’s lesbian, gay, bisexual, and transgender communities — in all their diversity — regardless of ability to pay. To further this mission, Callen-Lorde promotes health education and wellness, and advocates for LGBTQ+ health issues.**About the Role**Callen-Lorde is seeking a Director of Practice Analytics to help clinical and operational leaders run stronger, more accessible, and more sustainable practices across our health centers. This is not a traditional reporting role. The Director will bring direct knowledge of ambulatory practice operations and pair it with strong analytical judgment to identify what is happening, explain why it is happening, and help leaders decide what to do next.Reporting to the Chief Medical Officer, the Director will work closely with site medical directors, site administrative directors, finance, quality, revenue cycle, and technology teams. The role will establish a trusted view of performance across sites and translate clinical, operational, and financial data into practical changes in scheduling, staffing, provider panels, workflows, and care delivery. The strongest candidates will have managed or meaningfully supported an FQHC, community health center, hospital outpatient practice, or similarly complex ambulatory care environment. They will understand the operational realities behind the metrics, including access, template design, provider productivity, panel management, no-shows, care gaps, staffing ratios, payer mix, coding, denials, and regulatory reporting.**Key Responsibilities:**## **Practice Performance and Operational Improvement*** Partner with clinical and operational leaders to evaluate how practices are performing and identify specific opportunities to improve access, patient flow, continuity, quality, and efficiency.* Build and manage a practical performance framework covering visit demand, available capacity, provider productivity, schedule utilization, no-shows, third-next-available appointment, panel balance, care gaps, and continuity of care.* Use data to diagnose operational problems and work with leaders to redesign scheduling templates, rebalance provider panels, align staffing with patient demand, and reduce unused capacity.* Support site and service-line leaders with regular performance reviews, clear targets, and follow-through on improvement plans.## **Clinical, Quality, and Population Health Analytics*** Develop integrated views of clinical quality, population health, and practice performance across medical and behavioral health services.* Help leaders identify patients with overdue screenings, immunizations, follow-up needs, or chronic disease care gaps and translate findings into actionable worklists and workflows.* Track outcomes and disparities by site, provider, population, and other relevant dimensions to support equitable care improvement.* Support UDS, PCMH, FTCA, grant, managed care, and value-based performance reporting in partnership with responsible teams.## **Financial Sustainability and Capacity Planning*** Connect practice operations to financial performance by analyzing visit volume, provider FTE capacity, cost per visit, revenue per visit, payer mix, coding patterns, note closure, denials, and value-based incentives.* Develop forecasts and scenarios for service demand, staffing, visit capacity, revenue, and program growth to inform annual budgets and longer-term plans.* Assess the operational and financial impact of new programs, expanded services, staffing models, schedule changes, and regulatory requirements.* Partner with finance, revenue cycle, credentialing, and practice leaders to identify root causes and recommend operational solutions, not simply report variances.## **Dashboards, Data Governance, and Self-Service Analytics*** Lead the development of role-based dashboards that allow leaders to monitor performance by site, provider, service, and time period and drill down to the level needed for action.* Establish clear, shared definitions for core measures, including visits, no-shows, provider capacity, productivity, access, and quality outcomes.* Collaborate with IT and health information technology teams to improve data pipelines, EHR reporting, dashboard usability, data quality, and appropriate role-based access.* Advance self-service analytics by helping non-technical leaders understand, explore, and appropriately use data in day-to-day management.## **Leadership and Partnership*** Serve as a trusted thought partner to the Chief Medical Officer, Medical Directors, Administrative Directors, finance, quality, and executive leadership* Translate complex findings into concise recommendations for operational leaders, executive leadership, the Board, and external stakeholders* Supervise, coach, and develop analytics staff while building a responsive, service-oriented, and accountable team culture* Promote a culture in which data informs decisions, supports learning, and leads to measurable improvement rather than functioning only as retrospective reporting.**What Success Looks Like*** Site and clinical leaders have a trusted, consistent view of quality, access, efficiency, and provider performance.* Dashboards lead to concrete management actions, including schedule changes, panel rebalancing, targeted coaching, staffing decisions, and care-gap outreach.* Clinical, operational, and financial measures are connected, allowing leaders to understand tradeoffs and make sustainable decisions.* Callen-Lorde continues moving from operational reporting toward self-service, predictive, and proactive analytics.**Work Schedule**Callen-Lorde’s main site in Chelsea is open Monday through Saturday. This is a full-time, exempt hybrid position with regular business hours. The role requires a meaningful on-site (3-4 days/week) presence to understand practice workflows and partner directly with clinical and operational leaders. Occasional evening work may be required.**Benefits**Salary will be accompanied by an excellent benefits package including an exceptional low-cost medical plan option for you and your family, dental insurance, vision insurance, no-cost life insurance, short- and long-term disability insurance, Flexible Spending Accounts, Tuition Assistance, Commuter Benefits, a generous paid time off plan, and a 403B retirement savings plan. Providers are also eligible to apply for NHSC’s loan forgiveness program.## Qualifications* Bachelor’s degree in health administration, public health, business, healthcare informatics, analytics, or a related field, or an equivalent combination of education and directly relevant experience* At least 7 years of progressive experience in ambulatory healthcare operations, practice management, healthcare analytics, or a combination of these areas.* Direct experience managing, overseeing, or serving as a senior operational partner to a multisite ambulatory practice, preferably within an FQHC, community health center, hospital outpatient clinic, or safety-net healthcare organization.* Demonstrated success using data to improve practice operations, such as access, scheduling, patient flow, provider productivity, panel management, staffing, quality, care-gap closure, or financial performance.* Experience working with clinical, operational, and financial healthcare data and explaining the connections among them.* Strong knowledge of EHR (EPIC) and practice management data, including the ability to assess data quality and define meaningful operational measures.* Experience developing dashboards, forecasts, models, or performance reporting that leaders used to make operational decisions.* At least 5 years of people leadership, program leadership, or enterprise-level cross-functional leadership.* Advanced Excel skills and working proficiency with at least one visualization or analytics platform, such as Tableau or Power BI. Ability to work with SQL directly or effectively partner with technical teams that use SQL.* Excellent written, verbal, and facilitation skills, with the ability to communicate with clinicians, practice leaders, executives, technical teams, and non-technical audiences# Preferred Qualifications* Master’s degree in health administration, public health, business, healthcare informatics, analytics, or a related field.* Experience in an FQHC or community health center, including familiarity with UDS, HRSA requirements, PCMH, FTCA, and value-based or managed care performance.* Experience with EPIC and its reporting tools.* Experience with revenue cycle, coding, payer mix, budgeting, and revenue or capacity forecasting.* Experience integrating medical, behavioral health, and population health data.* Familiarity with LGBTQ+ health, HIV care, and health equity-focused measurement.# **Application Requirement**Please **submit a tailored cover letter** explaining: (1) the ambulatory practice environment in which you have worked; (2) one example of how you used data to improve practice performance or care delivery; and (3) why Callen-Lorde’s mission and this opportunity interest you.
