Job summary

NScale, the GPU cloud engineered for AI, is seeking a Director of Power Supply Agreements to lead negotiations and management of power supply agreements for its data center portfolio. You will own commercial relationships, ensure capacity, cost and reliability targets, and guide a team of engineers and analysts.

In this role you will collaborate with Legal, Finance, Development, and Utility teams to align contracts with project timelines, monitor market conditions, and translate complex tariffs

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Energy, Finance or related field.
• 8-12+ years in power supply agreements, energy procurement, or utility negotiations.
• Strong understanding of power supply structures, tariffs, and terms.
• Proven track record negotiating complex commercial agreements.
• Experience leading or mentoring a team.
• Ability to interpret tariffs, perform rate calculations, and analyze power costs.
• Master's degree in Engineering or Energy is a plus.
• Experience with data center or large industrial power supply agreements.
• Familiarity with energy markets and renewable procurement.
• Exposure to LCOE modeling and power economics for data centers.

Responsibilities

• Evaluate power supply options including utility service agreements, market purchases, and long-term contracts.
• Track market conditions and recommend procurement approaches balancing cost and reliability.
• Develop financial models and analytics documents to support energy sourcing decisions.
• Monitor energy regulations and policies affecting constructability, capacity, or cost.
• Lead negotiations for power supply agreements, tariffs, and related terms with utilities and suppliers.
• Partner with Legal and Finance to structure and finalize agreements.
• Manage supplier relationships and monitor performance and compliance.
• Lead and develop a team of engineers and analysts.
• Review analysis for negotiations and set priorities across a busy project pipeline.
• Partner with Development, Finance, and Utility Development to align timelines.
• Communicate supply risks, costs, and trade-offs to stakeholders.
• Support due diligence for new site selection based on power supply availability and cost.

About the Role

We are looking for a Director of Power Supply Agreements to lead the negotiation and management of power supply agreements for NScale's data center portfolio.

This leader will serve as the primary owner of commercial power supply relationships, ensuring capacity, cost, and reliability targets are met.

You will lead a team of engineers and analysts supporting supply agreement analysis and execution.

What You'll be Doing (Responsibilities)

Power Supply Agreement Strategy

• Develop and own the strategy for power supply agreements across the data center portfolio.
• Evaluate power supply options, including utility service agreements, market purchases, and long-term contracts.
• Track market conditions and recommend procurement approaches that balance cost and reliability.
• Develop financial models and analytics documents to support energy sourcing decisions.
• Monitor energy regulations and policies that have the potential to affect project constructability, capacity, and cost.

Negotiation & Contract Management

• Lead negotiations for power supply agreements, tariffs, and related commercial terms with utilities and suppliers.
• Partner with Legal and Finance to structure and finalize agreements.
• Manage ongoing supplier relationships and monitor agreement performance and compliance.
• Lead and develop a team of engineers and analysts supporting power supply agreement analysis.
• Review and quality-check technical and commercial analysis supporting negotiations.
• Set priorities and manage workload across an aggressive project pipeline.

Cross-Functional Collaboration

• Partner with Development, Finance, and Utility Development teams to align supply agreements with project timelines.
• Communicate supply risks, costs, and trade-offs to internal stakeholders.
• Support due diligence for new site selection based on power supply availability and cost.

About You (Skills / Qualifications)

Required

• Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Energy, Finance, or a related field.
• 8-12+ years of experience in power supply agreements, energy procurement, or utility commercial negotiations.
• Strong understanding of power supply agreement structures, tariffs, and utility commercial terms.
• Demonstrated success negotiating complex commercial agreements.
• Experience leading or mentoring a team.
• Strong ability to interpret utility tariffs, produce rate calculations, and analyze overall power costs.

Preferred

• Master's degree in Engineering, Energy, or a related field.
• Experience with data center or large industrial power supply agreements.
• Familiarity with energy markets and renewable energy procurement.
• Exposure to LCOE modeling and power economics as they relate to data center power procurement.

The range below reflects the base salary for the position. Actual compensation may vary based on job-related factors such as skill set, experience, education, and location. Salary Range

$170,000 - $300,000 USD
