Job summary

MidAmerican Energy Company seeks a Director/Senior Director, Project Construction & Engineering in Urbandale, IA. You will oversee design, construction and engineering of complex energy projects, including interconnection, SCADA, and asset management, while managing contracts, permits and regulatory processes.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in engineering, finance, business, accounting or related field.
• Eight or more years of power industry experience; four of those years relating to project construction, engineering, operations, or development preferred.
• Advanced degree preferred.
• Excellent verbal and written communication, negotiation and leadership abilities.
• Ability to travel occasionally (typically 20% travel).

Responsibilities

• Direct staff activities to ensure compliance with regulations, policies, and procedures.
• Manage construction and engineering activities for multiple projects across the service territory.
• Negotiate and manage contracts for construction, engineering, equipment supply and related services.
• Develop schedules, RFPs, budgets, and asset management plans; oversee permits and regulatory approvals.
• Build strategic relationships with contractors, consultants, suppliers and stakeholders.
