Job summary

BBR Partners is seeking a senior professional to join our Chicago office. You will help manage client relationships, shape investment and wealth management plans, and identify prospective clients for our ultra-high-net-worth clientele.

The role requires self-motivation, creativity, and a track record of success in developing new clients. Some travel for meetings is expected as part of an enterprising business development focus.

Job description

BBR Partners is a premiere, boutique wealth management firm providing investment and wealth management services to high-net-worth individuals and families. The firm, originally founded in early 2000, now manages over $35 billion in assets.

We are currently seeking an entrepreneurial, dynamic, senior professional to join the firm in our Chicago office. This person will help manage the firm's client relationships, overall strategy for clients' investment and wealth management plans, and identification of prospective clients. This is an enterprising business development and client service focused opportunity and requires someone with experience working with ultra-high-net-worth individuals and families on their investment and wealth management needs.

This position requires an individual who is self-motivated, creative and enjoys developing new clients on a continuous basis and has a track record of success. Flexibility to travel for client meetings is expected.

Key Responsibilities
  • Develop new business opportunities as well as maintain and expand referral sources. Establish relationships with prospective clients and transition new clients into the firm.
  • Primary cultivator of client relationships; actively nurture and deepen strong rapport with clients to win confidence, establish mutual trust and gain intimate knowledge of their lives in order to be able to anticipate their needs
  • Develop and execute the overall strategy for clients' investment and wealth management plans
  • Determine asset allocation, oversee on-going portfolio management and proactively monitor performance and clients' financial situation to ensure alignment with clients' customized strategies
  • Work with clients' team of external advisors (e.g., attorneys, tax accountants) to deliver integrated advisory services
  • Contribute to internal meetings regarding the firm's strategies, offering your thoughts, solutions and suggestions
  • Lead and manage internal BBR client teams
Qualifications
  • 10 years of relevant work experience
  • Extensive experience working with ultra and high net worth individuals and families on their investment and wealth management needs
  • Strong business development skills, including experience building relationships with prospective clients to identify their needs, determining client fit and successfully onboard them into the firm
  • Comfort and ability working in a collaborative, team-based environment
  • Skill in various aspects of portfolio management, including asset allocation theory
  • Strong familiarity with other wealth management issues (e.g., wealth transfer strategies, tax planning, insurance, single stock risk management, philanthropy)

Additional Information

Base salary for this position will be determined during the interview process and will vary based on multiple reasons, including but not limited to prior experience, relevant expertise, current business needs, and market factors. The expected base salary for the role will generally be between $180,000 and $220,000 per year at the commencement of employment, but the final salary offered may be outside this range based on these reasons and individual circumstances. Additionally, base salary is only part of the total compensation package, which, depending on the position, may also include discretionary bonuses, alternative incentive packages, commission eligibility, and Company-sponsored benefit programs. This position is at-will, and the Company reserves the right to modify base salary (as well as any other discretionary payment or compensation program) at any time, including for reasons related to individual performance, Company or individual department/team performance, and market factors.
