Job summary

The Salvation Army seeks a Director of Gift and Estate Planning to oversee planned giving efforts in Kansas. The hybrid role is based in Wichita with responsibility for rural Kansas.

Travel weekly to donors and prospects; supervise staff; collaborate with major gifts staff; develop strategies and budgets; provide reports to officers and boards. Ideal candidate will have a background in planned gifts, charitable tax concepts, and strong communication in a leadership capacity within a faith-based

Qualifications

• Education: Bachelor degree or five years of prospect moves and gift management.
• Experience: Understanding and securing planned gifts; knowledge of charitable tax laws and financial concepts.
• Certifications: CAP, CSPG, CGPP or CFRE helpful but not required.
• Strong oral, written, and listening skills; ability to travel frequently.

Responsibilities

• Promote and explain planned gift options to donors and advisors.
• Create and maintain active portfolio of planned gift prospects.
• Cultivate relationships and move prospects toward solicitation and close.
• Supervise Gift and Estate Planning staff.
• Provide reports and support to supervisor and boards.
