Provides leadership and coordination of the Physician Business Office, including Claim Billing, Claim Follow-up, Cash Receipts, Coding, and Self Pay operations for Methodist Le Bonheur Healthcare facilities and clinics. This role is primarily responsible for business and strategic planning, policy and procedure development, goal setting, technology development and implementation, project leadership, training, and development for management and staff. What you will do
  • Plan, organize, implement, and oversee Patient Accounting Operations to meet organizational goals.
  • Develop operational performance metrics aligned with divisional policies, focusing on staff, financial performance, and growth.
  • Participate in Revenue Cycle management, addressing claim underpayments, denials, credit balances, and KPIs.
  • Prepare annual budgets, capital requests, and resource plans for the department.
  • Set productivity and quality standards for staff, ensuring a competent, motivated workforce aligned with MLH values.
Education and Formal Training Requirements
  • Bachelor's Degree in Business Administration/Management, Accounting, or Finance.
Work Experience Requirements
  • 5-7 years of progressive responsibilities in healthcare financial management.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
  • Thorough knowledge of healthcare operations and financial management.
  • Management skills and leadership principles.
  • Strong communication, analytical, and computer skills, including proficiency in Microsoft Office applications.
  • Ability to lead, motivate, and work independently, managing multiple tasks effectively.
Supervision Provided
  • Directs the management team overseeing Claim Billing, Follow-up, Cash Receipts, Coding, and Self Pay operations.
Physical Demands
  • Position involves light physical activity, including sitting, standing, and manual tasks.
  • Requires good visual acuity for data analysis and computer work.
