Position Summary

The Director of Physician and APP Recruitment and On-Boarding develops recruitment and on-boarding strategies, manages recruitment and on-boarding processes, and leads teams of recruiting, sourcing and on-boarding professionals to achieve organizational goals for recruitment and retention of physicians and APPs. You will develop, implement and monitor recruitment (including locums) and on-boarding plans, processes, budgets and metrics in a complex, fast-paced matrixed work environment subject to heavy regulation. You will also drive continuous improvement and develop team member capabilities. This role requires the ability to think and act strategically while simultaneously focusing on day-to-day issues and priorities that demand strong problem-solving skills and an extreme attention to detail.

This job requires the ability to work after normal business hours as required to fulfill the responsibilities of the position.

Responsibilities

  • Organizes and aligns Provider Recruitment and On-boarding to best support the business imperatives. Establishes and maintains a structure and staff that are agile, respectful, efficient and effective in achieving recruitment and retention goals of the organization. Leads all provider recruitment and onboarding activities, including assigning all opportunities, sourcing, networking, troubleshooting, and other activities to successfully attract, on-board and retain providers.
  • Works with leadership to define short-term and long-term provider needs, recruitment strategies, forecast potential problem areas, etc. Aligns recruiting and on-boarding efforts with organizational goals. Establishes regular and close communications keeping leadership informed of the progress of recruitment and on-boarding progress.
  • Identifies annual recruitment priorities and assigns realistic timetables for physician and APP recruitment and on-boarding. Delegates recruitment and on-boarding projects to appropriate staff to help maintain good workflow and timely completion of projects. Educates, consults, and collaborates with physician and administrative leadership on physician and APP recruitment process, market availability, immigration needs, on-boarding process, etc.
  • Establishes and monitors key metrics (such as sourcing touchpoints, number of open positions, number of candidates, number of interviews, ratio of candidates to placements, time-to-fill, and other metrics as needed) to identify trend issues and areas for process/offer improvement. Measures results against benchmark data.
  • Manages provider recruitment and on-boarding staff, including all budgeted hiring; develops and grows teams; ensures balanced workload for all team members while maintaining seamless recruitment, on-boarding and excellent customer service for all clients.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree or appropriate experience can be substituted for education
  • Eight (8) years of experience in physician recruitment or related physician relations activities to include experience with employment and independent practice models
  • Valid Driver's License and proof of automobile insurance required
  • Five (5) years of management or supervisory experience

Pay and Benefit Expectations

We provide a comprehensive benefits package, including competitive salary, medical, dental and retirement benefits and paid time off. As required by various pay transparency laws, we share a competitive range of compensation for candidates hired into each position. The pay scale is $150,925.00 - $217,194.00 USD. However, pay is influenced by factors specific to applicants, including but not limited to: skill set, level of experience, and certification(s) and/or education. If this position is associated with a union contract, pay will be reflective of the appropriate step on the pay scale to which the applicant’s years of experience align.
