Job summary

Duke Health in Durham, North Carolina, seeks a Director of Performance Excellence to lead the Duke Quality System deployment and drive continuous improvement across the hospital. Reporting to the Chief Quality Officer, the director will partner with executives, physicians, nurses, and operations to elevate patient care and operational performance.

Responsibilities include directing a portfolio of initiatives, mentoring six Performance Excellence Coaches, and advancing lean methods, value stream

Qualifications

• Master's degree in Healthcare Administration or related field.
• 7+ years leadership experience in healthcare or similar.
• Proven Lean transformation and continuous improvement experience.
• Experience developing and sustaining Lean management systems.
• Ability to influence senior leaders and manage change.

Responsibilities

• Translate executive intent into operational reality by aligning leadership and executing priorities.
• Advise executives on continuous improvement strategy and transformation.
• Direct a portfolio of complex improvement initiatives across clinical, operational, and administrative areas.
• Utilize Lean methodologies, Value Stream Mapping, and A3 thinking to achieve measurable outcomes.
• Lead and develop a team of six Performance Excellence Coaches.
• Partner with executive leaders and teams to support strategic priorities and transformation.
