Job summary

The Philadelphia Museum of Art seeks a strategic Director of People and Culture to partner with museum leadership and advance a fair, inclusive workplace. You will oversee employee relations, labor relations, investigations, and policy development to drive organizational effectiveness.

The role requires a senior HR background, strong communication, and exception handling of complex workplace matters in a nonprofit cultural setting.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree required; Master’s degree preferred.
  • SHRM-SCP or SPHR certification strongly preferred.
  • Minimum of ten years of progressive HR experience in senior roles.

Responsibilities

  • Serve as lead resource on employee and labor relations.
  • Provide guidance on performance management and policy interpretation.
  • Lead investigations into workplace concerns and sensitivity matters.
  • Coach managers on addressing employee issues with fairness and discretion.
  • Develop and implement People and Culture policies aligned with strategic priorities.
