Job summary

HiveWatch, based in El Segundo, CA, seeks a Director, People & Culture to lead the People function end-to-end. You will own total rewards and benefits, shape culture, and run HR operations, while guiding a growing TA function reporting to the COO.

You’ll build programs from scratch, execute with a lean team, and partner with finance and legal to stay compliant across multiple states. This role is pivotal in shaping a hybrid workforce.

Qualifications

• 8+ years progressive People experience with total rewards and HR generalist duties.
• Experience with HRIS and benefits platforms (e.g., BambooHR, Ease, Rippling, Gusto, Warp, Justworks).
• Strong knowledge of California employment law and multi-state compliance.
• Experience supporting hourly, shift-based teams and startups.

Responsibilities

• Shape HiveWatch culture as the company scales and translates values into practices.
• Design engagement, recognition, and internal communications for a hybrid team.
• Lead org design, change management, and employee experience during growth.
• Oversee total rewards: benefits design, pay bands, and merit cycles, in partnership with finance.
• Run full lifecycle HR: onboarding, performance support, and offboarding.
• Partner with Legal on multi-state compliance.
