Job summary

Children's Colorado seeks a Director of Patient Care Services for Respiratory Therapy to lead this department within a nationally recognized pediatric hospital. You will shape clinical practice, mentor Respiratory Therapists and Clinical Managers, and drive system-wide quality and safety policies.

The role emphasizes evidence-based care, collaboration with senior leadership, and fiscal oversight of multiple cost centers while advancing patient- and family-centered care across services.

Qualifications

• Master's degree in Advanced Respiratory Care or a directly related health care field.
• Five (5) years of clinical experience required.
• Three (3) years of clinical leadership experience required.
• Pediatric experience is preferred.
• Certification as a Certified Respiratory Therapist (CRT) required within two (2) years of hire if that is an area of specialty.
• Current licensure as a Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT) in the State of Colorado required at time of hire.

Responsibilities

• Collaborates with senior leadership to identify and develop organizational objectives.
• Develops and communicates short- and long-term departmental strategic plans and goals to teams.
• Provides clinical expertise and promotes evidence-based medicine in nursing and respiratory care.
• Drives continuous process improvement for quality, safety, and efficiency in care delivery.
• Manages budget and resources for multiple cost centers within department budget constraints.
• Represents the hospital in professional organizations and committees; fosters collaboration.
• Interprets regulatory standards and ensures compliance across department.
• Supports leadership development, mentoring, and succession planning for managers.
