Job summary

AdventHealth is seeking an experienced payroll leader to oversee a team processing payroll in Workday for a large, complex healthcare organization. Hybrid/remote work is available, with occasional in-person office visits to support team collaboration and business needs.

The role requires 7+ years of managerial payroll experience, 9+ years in payroll overall, and healthcare payroll experience is strongly preferred. Strong knowledge of ADP SmartCompliance and UKG Time and Attendance is expected.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree required; Master's preferred.
  • 7+ years of managerial experience required.
  • 9+ years of payroll experience required.
  • Experience in a shared services or healthcare organization preferred.
  • Certified Pricing Professional (CPP-PPS) preferred; Certified Payroll Professional (CPP) preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Oversee a team of payroll professionals in a shared services environment, including off-cycle transactions, garnishments, time and attendance, payroll tax reporting, employee expense reports, and payroll account reconciliations.
  • Analyze key business metrics and provide strategy and problem resolution to drive results while upholding company values.
  • Train and develop department personnel to maintain productivity and quality.
  • Ensure compliance with regulatory requirements and organizational policies.
  • Coordinate with Shared Services leadership, facility leadership, and Human Resources.
  • Manage annual payroll operations budget and monitor variances against financial objectives.
  • Participate in internal and external audits to ensure accuracy and compliance.
  • Lead system modifications and process improvements to enhance payroll efficiency.

Job Summary

Minimum of two years of hands-on experience processing payroll in Workday. Demonstrated experience processing payroll in Workday for large, complex organizations with employee populations of 50,000 or more. Healthcare payroll experience strongly preferred. Experience using ADP SmartCompliance and UKG Time and Attendance. Hybrid/remote work arrangement available. As a leader, occasional monthly in-person office visits may be required to support team collaboration and business needs.

Responsibilities
  • Responsible for overseeing a team of payroll professionals managing payroll processing activities in a shared services environment, including off-cycle transactions, garnishments, time and attendance, payroll tax reporting, employee expense reports, and payroll account reconciliations.
  • This position analyzes key business metrics regularly and provides strategy and problem resolution to drive results while maintaining company values.
  • Additionally, this role sets standards and participates in the training and development of all department personnel to maintain a high level of productivity.
  • In addition, this position actively participates in outstanding customer service and maintains respectful relationships with all stakeholders.
  • Additionally, this role ensures compliance with regulatory requirements and organizational policies.
  • Establishes and maintains effective internal controls and procedures for payroll operations.
  • Coordinates and liaises with Shared Services leadership, facility leadership, Human Resources, and Corporate Payroll.
  • Prepares and monitors the annual budget for payroll operations, analyzing variances to adhere to financial objectives.
  • Participates in internal and external audits to ensure compliance and accuracy.
  • Identifies and implements system modifications and process improvements to enhance payroll efficiency.
  • Coaches, counsels, and develops payroll staff to ensure effective team performance.
  • Achieves superior customer satisfaction by working directly with internal and external customers.
  • Maintains professional and technical knowledge by tracking emerging trends in payroll management and attending educational workshops.
  • Available outside of normal business hours for occasional support needs.
  • Other duties as assigned.
  • Ensures compliance with regulatory requirements and organizational policies in all payroll activities.
  • Provides leadership and support to payroll team members, including guidance, troubleshooting, and issue resolution.
  • Manages and leads payroll staff activities to ensure timely and accurate payroll processing.

Pay Range
