Job summary

UnitedHealth Group seeks a Director, Advisory Services to lead complex payer-focused strategy engagements, mentoring managers, and shaping client outcomes with AI-enabled delivery.

The role requires senior-level advisory expertise, business development, and ability to collaborate across multiple streams while traveling up to 50%. Remote work is supported with in-office requirements in Minneapolis or Washington, D.C. area as specified.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of experience in management consulting (McKinsey-BCG-Bain / Big 4 / Boutique)
• 4+ years of experience in strategy and/or healthcare consulting
• 4+ years of experience with project management, developing and presenting deliverables to C-suite executives
• 4+ years of experience leading strategy work and/or strategic initiatives
• 2+ years of experience building, developing, and managing high-performing strategy consulting teams leveraging AI
• 2+ years of business development experience and success selling in payer market
• Proficiency in MS Office Suite - Word, PowerPoint, Excel
• Proven proficiency in AI-enabled productivity tools to drive delivery and workflows
• Strong written and verbal communication skills
• Willing or ability to travel domestically, up to 50% when required

Responsibilities

• Lead high-complexity, multi-workstream strategy and transformation engagements for payer clients
• Build consensus among senior client stakeholders for solution implementation
• Oversee day-to-day engagement managers and set direction for deliverables
• Serve as SME in health plan operations, enterprise strategy, and transformation
• Act as a key advisor to senior client executives
• Drive end-to-end business development and write proposals for new work
• Mentor team members and contribute to practice development
• Ensure project budgets and timelines are met
