United Way of Greater Atlanta is seeking a Director, Partnerships to drive corporate partnership strategy and revenue growth. You will manage a portfolio of partners, lead a direct report, and align engagement with UWGA’s mission to improve child well-being and equity.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree is required. Business, Marketing, Communications, Nonprofit Management, or related field preferred.
  • 3–5 or more years of experience in corporate partnerships, business development, sales, fundraising, nonprofit development, or related relationship-based revenue generation.
  • Demonstrated track record of meeting or exceeding revenue goals.
  • Experience developing and executing strategy, managing pipelines, forecasting revenue, and closing new business or philanthropic opportunities.
  • Prior experience managing, coaching, or leading staff preferred.
  • Strong presentation, writing, negotiation, and relationship management skills.
  • Ability to work collaboratively across teams and manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office, CRM systems, and revenue tracking tools.
  • Use of personal vehicle required.

Responsibilities

  • Secure new business by building strategic relationships with prospective corporate partners, advancing high-potential opportunities, and converting prospects into revenue-generating partnerships that support UWGA’s mission and growth goals.
  • Manage and grow a portfolio of corporate partners and prospects by aligning business priorities, employee engagement goals, and community impact interests with UWGA priorities/initiatives.
  • Manage, coach, and support one direct report, ensuring clear goals, accountability, professional development, and alignment with team and department priorities.
  • Collaborate across Development, Volunteer Engagement, Donor Engagement, Marketing, Community Impact, and other internal teams to deliver integrated, mission-aligned partner experiences.
  • Track pipeline activity, revenue forecasts, partner trends, and outcomes using CRM and reporting tools; provide insights and recommendations that support performance improvement and goal achievement.
  • Represent UWGA externally and help advance innovative partnership models, small business initiatives, and market-responsive approaches that differentiate UWGA and expand revenue opportunities.

Department Overview

The Office of Development is responsible for generating the philanthropic revenue that fuels UWGA’s mission to improve child well-being and advance equity across the region. Within the Office of Development, the Partnerships Team cultivates and manages relationships with corporate and community partners, identifies and secures new business opportunities, and nurtures short- and long-term partnerships aligned with UWGA’s strategic priorities.


The Partnerships Team also works collaboratively across Major Gifts, Volunteer Engagement, Donor Engagement, and other internal teams to offer corporate partners meaningful opportunities to engage through workplace giving, volunteering, sponsorships, marketing, storytelling, and other purpose-driven experiences.



Role Overview

The Director, Partnerships is a strategic, results-driven relationship leader responsible for advancing corporate partnership strategy, generating new revenue, managing a portfolio of corporate partners, and guiding the work of one direct report. This role combines business development, corporate engagement, financial forecasting, partnership innovation, and people leadership to grow revenue and deepen partner impact in alignment with United Way of Greater Atlanta’s mission.


The Director will lead proactive prospecting and pipeline development, cultivate and grow corporate relationships, support customized partner engagement strategies, and identify new opportunities to connect companies and their employees to UWGA’s work. This position is both strategic and execution-oriented, requiring a leader who can set direction, coach and support staff, manage complex relationships, and deliver measurable results.
