Job description

If you are looking for a mature SIOP function to simply maintain, this probably isn't the opportunity for you. We have been engaged by a Memphis-area manufacturer to identify a Director of Sales, Inventory & Operations Planning (SIOP) to build, lead and elevate the company's end-to-end planning process. This is a newly created, highly visible leadership role with the opportunity to put your fingerprints on how the organization aligns demand, manufacturing capacity, suppliers, inventory and financial objectives.

What Makes The Opportunity Interesting
  • Build and own the SIOP process — establish the cadence, disciplines, metrics and accountability needed to create one integrated operating plan.
  • Make an impact beyond planning — improve customer service, inventory productivity, working capital, production performance and overall operational execution.
  • Lead across the organization — partner directly with Sales, Finance, Procurement, Manufacturing, Product Management and Distribution to turn competing priorities into business decisions.
  • Solve real complexity — broad product portfolio, significant SKU count, manufactured and sourced products, changing demand, capacity constraints, new product introductions and long-tail inventory.
  • Lead and develop a team — approximately 9-10 professionals across production control/planning and related functions.
  • Executive visibility — this person will have a meaningful voice with senior leadership and will be expected to bring recommendations, challenge assumptions and drive action.
Who We're Looking For

A manufacturing supply-chain leader who has owned an SIOP/S&OP/IBP process and can point to measurable improvements in areas such as forecast accuracy, inventory turns, service levels, schedule attainment, working capital or capacity utilization.

We are particularly interested in leaders from high-SKU manufacturing/distribution environments such as automotive, automotive aftermarket, consumer durables, industrial products, service parts, appliances or heavy equipment.

The ideal candidate understands demand and supply planning, inventory optimization, MRP, production planning and capacity and knows how to influence people across functions and turn data into decisions.
