Job description

We seek an experienced and dynamic Director of Data Center Operations Engineering to lead the Program management function within our team. This role requires a strong leader with exceptional people management skills, extensive knowledge of program and project management, and an understanding of daily operations of datacenter engineering. The successful candidate will be responsible for building and leading the program management function that will direct the future of CyrusOne from an Operations Engineering perspective.

Responsibilities:

1. Build and lead the program management function tying into all aspects of process, ownership and execution of Operations Engineering directives.
2. Support all facets of the Operation Engineering team and projects assigned by trade/discipline.
3. Support global programs in-house maintenance and site engineering functions.
4. Provide a point of communication for all engineering teams to assist in moving process development forward and globalizing the organization.
5. Maintain reliability and improve the efficiency of data center operations.
6. Assist in developing and implementing strategies to improve data center performance and sustainability.
7. Develop processes and define tools to use for the tracking and on-time delivery of all processes, documentation, project/program timelines and executive dashboards for progress reflection.
8. Provide regular communications channels with senior leadership around progress on continuous improvement plans and milestones.
9. Develop scope and needs to help sell Operations Engineering as a product to our internal stakeholders.
10. Develop, update and add consistency to overall standards and processes within the company.
11. Create and maintain a strong communication channel with all engineering teams within CyrusOne to allow for collaboration between the centralized Operations Engineering Team, the management teams and local operators. This will serve as a two-way communication channel to add consistency in how we run our datacenters globally.

Qualifications:

1. Proven leader in datacenter operations with 10+ years of experience in leading teams and processes.
2. Expert level knowledge in program/project management.
3. Experience in product is a plus as we are looking to provide our service as a product to the company.
4. Effective analytical and problem-solving abilities, Process engineering certification preferred (Lean, Six Sigma, etc.).
5. Evidence of people management and leadership skills across multi-discipline teams.
6. Excellent communication skills in verbal and written formats.
7. Able to travel 25%.

Education / Certifications:

1. B.S. degree or equivalent work experience.
