Winpak is seeking a hands-on Director of Operations to align production, purchasing, maintenance and quality across the Flexibles division. You will oversee daily plant operations, optimize resources, equipment and personnel to maximize ROA.

Job description

The Director of Operations will report to the President of our client's Flexibles division and lead efforts to align production, purchasing, maintenance, and quality functions. This role will oversee daily plant operations while ensuring resources, equipment, and personnel are utilized effectively to maximize return on assets. Key responsibilities include planning, organizing, and directing operational activities; standardizing and enforcing operating procedures; and promoting proactive quality management. The Director will also establish clear expectations, accountability, and collaboration across departments.

In addition to managing core operations, this leader will drive continuous improvement throughout the facility. They will champion Lean manufacturing principles, lead cross-functional problem-solving, and identify opportunities to improve efficiency, quality, safety, and overall performance. The role requires a hands-on, strategic leader who can build a culture of operational excellence and empower teams to implement sustainable improvements. Success will depend on the ability to balance day-to-day execution with long-term initiatives that strengthen plant performance and safety.
