Job summary

First Tech Federal Credit Union seeks a Director, Internal Audit - Operational Risk to lead risk-based assurance and advisory work across ERM, operational risk, TPRM, BC/DR, and governance. You will serve as an Engagement Owner and trusted advisor to executive leadership.

Responsibilities include overseeing audit planning, execution, reporting, issue validation, regulatory engagement, and continuous improvement of audit methodologies while mentoring a high-performing team of professionals.

Qualifications

• 8+ years of internal audit experience and strong leadership capabilities.
• Experience overseeing ERM, operational risk, and third-party risk programs.
• Knowledge of BC/DR, resilience, and model risk management.
• Ability to present findings to executives and boards.
• Strong communication and analytical skills.
• Professional certifications preferred: CIA, CRMA, CRISC, CISA, FRM, CRCM or PMP.

Responsibilities

• Lead a portfolio of risk-based operational risk audit and advisory engagements with timely delivery.
• Oversee audit planning, risk assessments, testing strategies, and reporting.
• Review findings, severity ratings, remediation plans and validation.
• Contribute to annual audit plan through risk assessments and coverage planning.
• Provide independent assessments of governance, risk management, and internal controls.
• Represent Internal Audit in governance and steering committees.
• Lead interactions with regulators and external auditors.
• Monitor regulatory developments and emerging risk themes.
• Validate corrective action plans and remediation progress.
• Develop and mentor audit professionals.
