Job summary

The Texas Education Agency (TEA) oversees public education in Texas and leads the Bluebonnet Learning initiative to provide evidence-based, content-rich instructional materials across PK-12. The Deputy Associate Commissioner, OER, will oversee end-to-end development of Texas-specific resources, including scope, sequence, units, daily lessons, assessments, and supporting materials.

This leadership role requires strong editorial and production planning, license compliance, and content governance.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree from an accredited four-year college or university.
• 8+ years of experience leading complex, cross-functional initiatives in curriculum design, publishing, or education operations.
• Experience with large-scale program or product management and vendor/contracts is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Lead editorial workflow, production planning, and release management for Texas OER materials.
• Oversee contract management, licensing compliance, and IP stewardship for Bluebonnet Learning.
• Ensure quality assurance and alignment with TEC, SBOE, and IMRA processes.
